Policy presentation Board 79 2025-2026
The Chairman of Board 79 presented the policy of the year 2025-2026. This year, the policy contains the following two focus points: member integration and professionalization of study-related activities.
In order to strengthen integration of participating members, the Board will keep focusing on introductory and social activities such as the thematic monthly drinks and they will make more places available for activities like the all years weekend and lectures. The Board will also focus on improving communication through monthly overviews and Instagram stories. For active members, social cohesion within committees will be stimulated by adding social members and organising more informal activities, and involvement will be encouraged through accessible G.A. documents and the reintroduction of the G.A. bingo. To professionalize study-related activities, the Board will integrate psychology master tracks into workshops and lectures, increase the diversity of topics, and invest more budget in renowned speakers and external locations in order to raise attendance, impact, and visibility.
Compared to last year, several changes have been made regarding the committees and their activities. A new Education Committee is introduced and will organise a quiz night, a workshop, and two lectures. The deSofa Committee will consist of twelve instead of fifteen members, include an extra social member, and organise two release parties and a writing session. Additionally, members who want to continue with this committee must now reapply each year. Both the deSofa Committee and Yearbook Committee will switch from working with InDesign to Canva. The Yearbook Committee will now also organise a social activity and the Yearbook will be distributed on request. This year, the Network Committee will organise an inhouseday, two alumni activities, and three alumni newsletters instead of two. The Social Activities Committee will organise a Christmas dinner, a Dies gala, and one free activity, replacing the New Year’s dinner and cancelling one other social activity. The Congress Committee will organise one lecture instead of two, while the Party Committee will organise four parties, including three theme parties. The All Years Weekend will expand to sixty participants, and both the Long Studytrip Committee and Network Committee will include an acquisition member. For the All Years Weekend and the Short Studytrip, destinations from the past three years cannot be repeated instead of five. Travel committees must also provide evaluation forms, and trip reveals will no longer be linked to (monthly) drinks but take place online with interactive posts. Finally, the Connection Committee, the Community Committee, and the Symposium Committee will not resume this year.
This year the following committees will be open for international students: the All Years Weekend Committee, the Congress Committee, the deSofa Committee, the Education Committee, the First Years Weekend Committee, the Long Studytrip Committee, the Network Committee, the Party Committee, the Short Studytrip Committee, the Social Activities Committee, and the Yearbook Committee.
